To answer this question, the book explores the evolution of heterosexual sexuality through the lens of contraception, from the 1960s to the 2020s. Enthusiastic hopes and disappointments, controversies over the effects of hormones, promises of male contraception, denunciation of contraceptive labor, the spread of cycle-tracking apps, the evolution of masculinities and femininities, the persistence of penetration's centrality in the sexual script... Contraception appears in a dual light, both as a condition for emancipation, especially for women, and as a crucible of the inequalities that underpin and shape heterosexuality.

To conduct this investigation, Cécile Thomé draws on ten years of socio-historical research, taking readers from archives to interviews, from national survey results to Facebook forums. Confronting a sexuality considered natural, individual, and intimate with the social and material conditions that actually make it possible, the book sheds light on how contraception helps shape the norms, practices, and representations of ordinary heterosexual sexuality.

Their various features ensure ease in all circumstances: a wide waistband elastic for enhanced support, a discreet and intuitive pouch for ease of use and testicular lift, textiles that combine comfort, performance, breathability and durability, an adjustable internal ring that supports without ever constricting.

The 37.0 boxer shorts may require a short adaptation period, but wearing them should not be painful in any way. We recommend not wearing them for more than a few hours during the first few days. You will quickly get perfectly used to their presence, just like you would with your socks.
